Christen Thompson, head coach at Menlo College, discusses what makes her school and program stand out from the rest.
A typical NAIA school is relatively small, and Menlo College has about 800 students. Menlo has strong business and psychology programs, and stresses community integration, which allows for integration and strong business connections.
Menlo has strong internship opportunities for students, urging students to delve into real-life working situations that will prepare them for post-college life. While a high GPA is encouraged, Menlo stresses creativity and thinking outside of the box.
Furthermore, Menlo has rigorous academic and athletic support systems from full-time tutoring centers, sports performance staff, and athletic training staff. Because the community is so intimate and connected, students have access to critical resources students at larger schools may not have access to.
