Ken Eriksen encourages players to persistently contact schools they're interested in attending. Just because a school doesn't reach out to a player first doesn't mean that player shouldn't reach out. Players should actively contact schools and coaches in order to foster interest. College coaches are impressed by players who are willing to recruit themselves!
Persistence and consistent communication show college coaches that a player is dedicated and determined to play college softball. This type of confidence doesn't go unnoticed by college coaches. Recruiting is a two-way street: Players should proactively advocate for themselves and invite college coaches to visit a scrimmage, practice, showcase or game to watch them play.
