Dana Sorensen and Jono Green, co-owners at Symbiotic Training Center talk about motor control.
Motor control is our brain's ability to control joint motion and range of motion.
A trainer's job is to train athletes to develop motor control of a player's range of motion. If you train range of motion but don't increase an athlete's ability to control that range, then an athlete will have a greater chance of getting injured. Uncontrolled range of motion can lead to severe injuries, especially in a pitcher's shoulder, elbow and wrist.
