Amber Freeman breaks down the swing into different phases with this drill focusing on the beginning of the swing and engaging the backside.
Have the hitter hit balls off a tee, taking their load-step but freezing prior to the swing to make sure the entirety of the backside is engaged, strong and prepped to follow through. Make sure that they're engaging the entirety of the backside during the swing: The shoulder, the elbow, the hip, the knee and the foot should all be in line during the first part of the swing. Keep the weight back to prep for the swing, and then bring through the rest of the swing.
