Coach India Chiles explains step by step how to catch balls that are heading toward the outfield wall.
First, the player drop steps and then sprints towards the wall to find the ball. Once the player is getting close to the wall, they want to avoid ramming into the wall. That means they have to jump vertically instead of jumping forward once they reach the wall. As the player approaches the wall, stick out an arm to gauge where the wall is. At the same time, turn slightly so that your backside is contacting the wall. Other teammates can help the the player know where they are in relation to the wall by yelling "wall!" when they get close.
