Taylor Van Zee runs players through a circle footwork drill for infielders that increases athleticism, quick feet and speed.
How it works:
The infielder starts at the top of the cone or base. At the coach's clap, the infielder takes quick, small steps around the cone. Once the infielder reaches her starting position, field a ground ball and perform a throw. Focus on fielding the ball by the left foot to prepare for a long throw to first base. Each infielder performs 10-15 repetitions.
