Many coaches are afraid their athletes will get behind if they take a break from the sport.
Not Dana Sorensen. The pitching coach believes it’s a good idea to give players eight to 12 weeks off, so they can rest their bodies and prevent future injuries. That doesn’t mean athletes should stay inactive during their downtime. While recovering, they can build strength and work on movement patterns, so they’ll be ready to go once practices resume.
