Elevate your catchers’ blocking skills with this quick-paced drill that sharpens reaction time and reinforces proper body positioning behind the plate.
Purpose: To improve blocking technique and reaction time.
How it works: Arrange five softballs in a circle on the ground. Starting behind one ball, a catcher drops into a block while keeping her head and chest over the ball. She quickly moves to the next ball and repeats the movement, continuing around the circle.
Variations: Increase the difficulty by enlarging the circle, reversing the direction after one rotation, or creating a head-to-head competition with a second catcher.
Requirements: One to two players, five softballs, gloves, and a field
