Jessica Pistole, Head Coach for San Diego Softball, talks about how a coach goes about first recruiting high school players. The most important thing? Developing a relationship with a recruit to see if the school and the athlete are well-suited for one another.
September 1st is the new deadline when college coaches can reach out to juniors and seniors in high school who they’re interested in recruiting. Once the deadline hits, coaches can then begin reaching out to players and engaging in dialogue about scholarships, school visits and whether or not the school is the correct fit for the athlete.
