Purpose: To practice properly executing a drop-step.
How it works: Players spread out on a line, each with a bat on the ground in front of them. They get in ready position with their toes against the bat. On the coach’s command, they perform a drop-step and run where the coach indicates. If a bat moves, it’s a sign the player jumped rather than opened up her hips to execute the drop-step. Players return to starting position and the drill repeats.
