Head softball coach at West Valley College, Vicky Piatt, talks about her Olympic journey - and how it started at the very same school she now coaches at.
Vicky never intended to go to West Valley College, but says that looking back she couldn't have ended up at a more perfect school and program. Her freshman year she was named an All-American, and she then transferred to a bigger school in California where she earned a full-ride scholarship after performing well her sophomore year. During college the USA Team staff became interested in her potential and she ended up making the team in 2008.
Vicky's' story shows that unexpected paths can lead to incredible opportunities. Wherever you end up going to college, make the most of the situation, team and opportunities that present themselves.
