Purpose: To teach corners to attack the short hop.
How it works: A player and coach stand about 20 feet apart. The coach rolls or hits the ball to the player. The player moves toward it, bends down and uses a backhand “raking” movement to receive the ball. Staying low as she moves across her body, she then makes a throw to a second player standing at a base. The drill repeats with the coach rolling or hitting balls to different locations so the players gets a chance to play the ball with both the forehand and backhand.
Requirements: One or more players, balls, gloves, bats, a coach and a field
