As a coach, you can teach your pitchers good game management skills by considering a few key questions that go beyond the score of the game.
- What kind of pitchers do you have?
- How are your pitchers doing with lead-off outs?
- How are your pitchers doing when runners are in scoring position?
- How do your pitchers do with 2 outs?
- How many hits do we give up with 2 strikes?
All of these items are important controllables that your pitchers can work on as they improve throughout the season, giving you more opportunities to add tallies to the win column.
