Help your athletes find the bat’s sweet spot so they can hit better. Used as a warm-up, the feel the barrel drill helps hitters get to the zone and teaches them to square up to more balls. Feel the barrel drill
Purpose: To train hitters to locate the bat’s sweet spot.
How it works: A hitter sets up to a ball on a tee. As the player prepares to swing, she first pumps her arms forward three times while holding the bat. This allows her to get a feel for where the heaviest part of the bat is. After the third pump, she is free to swing away.
Requirements: One player, a bat, balls and 20 feet of space
