The game of softball is not always paint by numbers; in other words, softball scenarios aren't always played out the same way or automatic. Players and coaches need to get creative with their softball IQ. Should we tag up every time at third if there is a pop fly? Do we assume there's going to be a bunt with runners at first? Coach Ken Eriksen gives some examples of times we tend to get in a pigeon holds. We need to respond and react to the moment that is going on, not just assume their strategy. We can anticipate but not be predictable.
