Mastering proper posture is essential for success as a slapper in softball. In this video, Coach Caryl Drohan covers the key components of maintaining optimal posture to enhance performance. Slappers must focus on aligning their shoulders and hips, engaging their core, and pulling their shoulder blades back to establish a solid foundation and posture. Keeping the nose in line with the belly button is also key in proper slapping posture. Additionally, slappers need to line up their nose towards the pitcher during the hitting motion instead of facing back towards the plate. When a slapper’s nose is facing forward, their feet will follow, enabling them to attack the pitch and maintain forward motion through the swing.
