What are some factors that go into stealing second base? It's more than just being able to beat the catcher's throw. Here's some things to consider when deciding if it's smart to steal second:
- It's harder for hitters to be successful with a runner on 2nd base than it is on 1st base
- Lefties are much more productive than righties with a runner on 1st
- Simply looking fast and aggressive at 1st base will create better counts for your hitter
So, what actually works best? Coach Randy Schneider runs through some different scenarios and compiles a list of what works best for the runner AND hitter.
Hi Dan, this has been fixed.
As a general rule do you have your SS and 2B cheat in and over toward second base when the other team has a runner on second.
