Challenge both your hitters and pitchers in this drill from Carol Hutchins.
Start with a line of 3-4 pitchers at the mound and a batter at the plate. Each pitcher will throw only one pitch before rotating to the back of the line. The next pitcher takes the mound, assumes the count that the previous pitcher left it at, and throws the next pitch before heading to the back of the line.
For example, Pitcher 1 throws a ball. Pitcher 2 takes the mound with a count of 1-0 and her pitch is fouled. Pitcher 3 takes the mound with a count of 1-1 and throws a strike. Pitcher 4 takes the mound with a count of 2-1.
The drill is difficult for both pitchers and hitters because it doesn't allow either of them to get into a rhythm. Try it today!
