Purpose: To practice tossing balls to the catcher with control.
How it works: Two players line up in first and third base positions about 20 feet from a coach. From home plate, the coach rolls a ball directly in front of the first player, who moves toward the ball in a low body position. She receives the ball with two hands, advances toward home, then returns the ball to the catcher with a low, controlled toss. The drill repeats with the other player.
Variations: Run the drill using a glove flip instead of a hand toss. Players should follow tosses with their gloves.
Requirements: Three or more players, gloves, softballs, a coach and a field
